We made a visible and
measurable impact to our
client's business
Accelerated application release frequency
Reduced change lead time from 10–12 days
Reduced mean time to recovery
About the Client
A leading Indian financial services institution managing business-critical lending and securitized loan operations operates in a highly regulated environment where application availability, security, and operational resilience are essential to business continuity.
As its technology environment evolved, a traditional on-premises infrastructure had become a constraint on the organization's ability to scale applications, accelerate releases, and respond efficiently to changing business demands.
The organization partnered with Lauren Group to move beyond infrastructure migration and establish a modern application platform on AWS - without disrupting critical production services.
The Problem
The existing on-premises environment had become a constraint on application agility and operational efficiency, creating several challenges:
- Legacy infrastructure limiting application scalability and flexibility
- Manual provisioning and deployment processes extending release cycles
- 10–12 day lead times for application changes
- Limited operational visibility across applications and infrastructure
- ~8-hour mean time to recovery during incidents
- Difficulty responding efficiently to fluctuating financial transaction workloads
- Need to strengthen security, governance, and compliance controls
- Requirement to modernize applications without significant application-level changes or production disruption
- Need for an automated, cloud-native platform capable of supporting future modernization initiatives
Our Approach
Lauren Group took a structured Assess → Mobilize → Migrate & Modernize approach, combining cloud migration with application platform modernization to create a more scalable and automated operating environment.
1. Assessment
- Conducted infrastructure discovery and application dependency mapping
- Assessed workloads, application architecture, and migration readiness
- Reviewed existing deployment and release processes
- Evaluated security, compliance, networking, and connectivity requirements
- Identified workloads suitable for containerization
- Designed the target AWS architecture and migration waves
- Developed AWS cost estimates using AWS Pricing Calculator
2. Mobilization
- Designed and configured the AWS VPC and networking environment
- Provisioned Amazon ECS and Amazon ECR
- Prepared Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines
- Implemented IAM, security, and governance controls
- Developed migration runbooks and production cutover plans
- Established testing, validation, and rollback procedures
3. Migration & Modernization
Applications were migrated from the on-premises data center using a rehost + replatform strategy, introducing containerization to modernize the application platform while minimizing changes to existing applications.
- Containerized existing applications and deployed them on Amazon ECS
- Implemented a hybrid ECS environment using Amazon EC2 and AWS Fargate
- Automated application deployments through CI/CD pipelines
- Migrated application data and persistent storage
- Established centralized monitoring and logging
- Implemented AWS-native security and governance services
- Conducted functional, performance, and user acceptance testing
- Executed production cutover with validation
- Transferred operational knowledge to customer teams

The Result
The engagement transformed a manually operated, infrastructure-constrained environment into a modern, containerized AWS platform designed for greater speed, scale, resilience, and security.
The organization achieved:
- 4× improvement in release frequency, moving from monthly to weekly releases
- Change lead time reduced from 10–12 days to less than 2 days
- MTTR reduced from approximately 8 hours to less than 1 hour
- Elastic compute capabilities through Amazon EC2 and AWS Fargate
- Automated application deployments through CI/CD
- Centralized monitoring and improved operational visibility
- Strengthened security and governance through AWS-native services
- A scalable cloud foundation supporting continued application modernization
The result was more than a successful migration - it established a modern application platform capable of supporting the organization's next phase of digital growth.
