About the Client
A leading Indian power and energy enterprise managing large-scale, business-critical infrastructure environments across its operations. With increasing infrastructure demands and growing operational complexity, the organization required a more scalable, flexible, and future-ready virtualization platform capable of supporting evolving business and technology requirements.
To accelerate infrastructure modernization and reduce dependency on traditional virtualization environments, the client sought to transition from vSphere to OpenShift Virtualization - enabling greater operational agility, streamlined VM management, and improved scalability across enterprise workloads.
The Problem
As virtualization requirements continued to grow, the organization faced several operational and infrastructure challenges:
- Heavy reliance on traditional virtualization platforms limiting scalability and flexibility
- Complex migration requirements for moving workloads from vSphere to OpenShift Virtualization
- Need for a modern platform capable of managing virtual machines and containerized workloads together
- Requirement for persistent storage and high-performance infrastructure to support enterprise applications
- Manual operational processes impacting infrastructure efficiency and scalability
- Ensuring seamless workload continuity and minimal downtime during migration activities
- Need for centralized control, automation, and simplified lifecycle management across environments
The client required an enterprise-grade virtualization platform capable of modernizing operations while improving performance, resilience, and long-term infrastructure agility.
Our Approach
Lauren architected and deployed a Bare Metal Red Hat OpenShift environment using the Assisted Installer method to create a modern, scalable, and automation-driven virtualization platform optimized for enterprise workloads.
The solution enabled seamless VM creation, migration, and lifecycle management while delivering the scalability, resilience, and operational efficiency required for mission-critical infrastructure environments.
