About the Client

A leading power and energy company in India, the client operates a large-scale infrastructure that demands high performance, flexibility, and operational efficiency. To optimize IT management and reduce dependency on traditional virtualization platforms, they aimed to modernize their infrastructure by transitioning from vSphere to OpenShift Virtualization. 

The Problem

The company needed to migrate its workloads from vSphere to OpenShift Virtualization while ensuring minimal downtime and smooth operations. Their key challenges included: 

  • Deploying OpenShift on Bare Metal using the Assisted method. 
  • Creating & managing new virtual machines (VMs) directly on OpenShift. 
  • Seamlessly migrating existing VMs from vSphere to OpenShift Virtualization. 
  • Ensuring scalability, flexibility, and persistent storage for virtualized workloads.
